Kathryn Bond

Piano

Mrs. Kathryn Bond, a Mississippi native, began her piano studies sitting on the lap of her Papa Barnett, a blacksmith/welder and well-known piano player known for his ability to provide the perfect notes and rhythm gospel quartets needed in order to sing well. Her first regular teacher taught her to love classical music and to play hymns well enough to begin playing the organ at the age of 12 and prepared her for advanced studies in college.

Armed with her B.A. in secondary English education with a minor in piano pedagogy and performance, she with her husband moved often with their children for ministry---Pensacola, Virginia, Atlanta, Paris, etc. In 1999, the family settled in Huntsville, Al, and with other homeschooling families formed Excalibur Christian School. Kathryn continued to teach or perform (English, French, Latin, ESL, and Piano) in each of those places, and now, as a widow, she lives and works in Huntsville where two of her married children and her grandchildren also live.
